The winningest coach in any sport in CSU history.  A career record of 662-185 (.782) over 27 years, including 488 wins (.812) in 19 years at CSU.  (The next closest, Jim Williams, won 352 games over 26 years).  19 straight NCAA tournament appearances in 19 years (21 for the program overall); 7 consecutive Mountain West Conference Championships.  CSU Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Tom Hilbert, will be our featured speaker this Wednesday, introduced by CSU Athletics Director, Joe Parker.  
 
 
This year’s team, with only one senior and four juniors, is preseason ranked 25th in the nation.  Besides sharing stories and comments on CSU’s Volleyball program, Hilbert will share his approach to growing young leaders.   In the classroom, Hilbert’s teams have earned two Academic All-American and 85 Academic All-Conference awards including 43 over the past five seasons. 
 
Hilbert has also coached 12 MW Player-of-the-Year honorees in the league's 17-year history, 10 AVCA All-Americans including 5 in the past 5 years, 25 All-American Honorable Mention, and 77 All-Conference selections.  Hilbert has been named Conference Coach of the Year 14 times, including 9 in the MW Conference, and named AVCA Regional Coach of the Year 5 times.  
 
A native of Norman, Okla., Hilbert earned his B.S. in business administration and marketing in 1984, and his MBA in 1989, both from University of Oklahoma (OU).  He spent 5 years at OU as an assistant coach before taking over the volleyball program at Idaho, accumulating a 174-72 (.707) record - which remains the most wins by a coach in Idaho history.  In 1993, he received a second master's degree, in sports and recreation management from Idaho.

Joe Parker has been CSU Athletics Director since March 2015, having been deputy A.D. at Texas Tech, and senior associate A.D. at the University of Michigan, the University of Oklahoma, Washington State University, and the University of Texas.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Michigan, and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas, and was a three-time All-America swimmer at Michigan, where he was also team captain. He earned a gold and bronze medal as a senior in the 1987 World University Games in Zagreb, Yugoslavia.
 
He and his wife, Jennie, have two children, Emma and Will.
