At the July meeting the RCFC Board discussed pending Membership Applications, finalized the 2015-16 Budget, reviewed the Satellite membership activities, and discussed the board responsibilities.  The approved Budget and a budget analysis, listing changes to committee requests are both posted in Club Documents on Club Runner.

The third Thursday of each month the RCFC board of directors meet at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, 4745 Wheaton Drive – one block south of Harmony on Wheaton.  The next meeting will be 3:30, August 20.  All Rotarians are always welcome.

Here’s a quick synopsis of July’s meeting.  Full board minutes will be posted on Club Runner when approved.
Membership Applications:  RCFC has a backlog of 8 pending applications.  All will be inducted in the next few weeks.  The Satellite now has 13 members.

Finances:   The final 2014-15 financial statement, and the 2015-16 budget are posted on Club Runner, Member Area, under Club Documents.  In summary:
  • The club ended the year in the black due to previously discussed board actions.  It appears we will be able to rebuild some of the club reserves lost during the great recession.  Exact amounts and actions will be discussed in August.
  • Great news - Member Pledges in support of our charitable service programs increased 22%, from $42,940 (2014-15) to $52,483 for 2015-16.
  • Not good news – the $52K is about $11,700 short of the total requested by committees during the zero-based budgeting exercise, requiring a reduced allocation to our charitable programs.  The board reviewed all requests, past and current expenditures, and set project budgets.  Exact amount by project is posted in the same file – “2015-16 Budget Documents”.
  • Potential Good news – RCFC still has potential income, from the Peach Festival, from additional pledges and from increased membership.  The board has set budget review points in September and January and will adjust the budget at that time as possible.
Satellite Membership:  Jaime reported the Satellite membership is focused on having a 3-4 hour service project every other month.  For August, they are planning a Suicide Prevention booth for at the Peach Festival.

Board Responsibilities and Functions:  The Board discussed their roles and responsibilities, including our personal responsibilities and ways of working together.  Discussion will continue, including at a retreat in the planning stages.
Please contact any board member for details on anything above, or any other question.
Yours in Rotary Service,
