The twin pillars of Foundation support – the Annual Programs Fund and the Permanent Fund – are crucial to meeting world needs. The Foundation enables our clubs and districts to multiply their service efforts many times over. This effect is increasing as the Foundation's humanitarian grant projects become larger in scale to profoundly improve the lives of more people.
We can help Make Dreams Real for children and their families today by giving at least US$100 to the Annual Programs Fund through the Every Rotarian, Every Year initiative. And we can help ensure their needs will be met tomorrow by building a strong endowment through contributions to the Permanent Fund .
Our Foundation's humanitarian grants, Rotary World Peace Fellows, and other programs are essential to realizing a better world. Together, let's embrace both pillars of Foundation support and expand our capacity to improve health, support education, alleviate poverty, and light the way to peace.

How do they function as photographers? Jack explained that they now log onto Chile on the Internet, tell the site to take pictures, and in what has become a rather complicated process they then collect frames and put them together. Last year, one of their pictures of what is called the Horsehead Nebula appeared in the National Geographic Magazine. Jack then showed a photo of the Witch's Head nebula that UNESCO is publishing this year. Then he finished up his still photograph displays by showing a planetary nebula that has exploded, as well as the Eye of God nebula and a number of galaxies that he has photographed with a group in Spain.
The finale was a fascinating three-minute movie that summarized his work so far, and he invited viewers to observe his pictures on his web site at www.starshadows.com or by Googling SSRO. An impressive program indeed.
Jack answered many interesting questions from our club members.
Our departure of July 22, 2010 is planned for everyone to have the best departure dates and timed for the Education Employee to better fit theirs and their family’s break dates. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring their children, young adults and Grandchildren on this cultural and historical trip.
We will explore Shanghai, China’s most modern city, cruise the legendary Yangtze between Wuhan and Chongquing where we make our way through the scenic Three Gorges and the wildly beautiful Lesser Gorges, explore the engineering marvel of the Three Gorges Dam and at Xian stare into the faces of thousands of Terra Cotta Warriors who were buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang. In Beijing, explore historic imperial treasures like The Forbidden City, the Great Wall and the much publicized Tiananmen Square..
Again this year, we anticipate a wonderful time as the participants had last year! All are welcome! Particularly those who really want to understand the origins of Chinese culture should strongly consider this itinerary — an ultimate China experience. The larger the numbers, the more benefits to the Rotary funds. For questions or to make reservations call any of the Fund Raising Committee member.
