SPEAKER INFORMATION
ROTARY CLUB OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, INC
.

Thank you so much for being available to speak to our club. The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideals of service as a basis of worthy enterprise, high ethical standards in business and profession, and the advancement of international understanding, good will, and peace through a world of fellowship.

Our club membership demography consists of Fort Collins business and professional men and women, city and county administrators, teachers and staff from the Poudre school system, faculty from Colorado State University, and pastors of local churches. Additional information about our club can be found on our Club's Website: http://www.rotarycluboffortcollins.org. Announcements, programs and weekly activities are published in our Rotogear weekly newsletter also found at http://www.rotary5440.org/fortcollinsco/rotogear.html.

Our speakers are usually given 30-35 minutes (20-25 minutes for a presentation and 5-10 minutes for Q&A). We can provide a video (PowerPoint) projector, microphones, screen, slide projector, etc. Membership is about 200, but attendance is usually about 125-150. Lunch is served beginning at 12:00 noon; speakers usually talk from 12:55-1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. We have a strict termination time of 1:30 pm. We request all speakers follow these guidelines:

  1. No fund solicitation is permitted as part of the presentation. We have an extensive charitable giving program, but we do not allow solicitation orally. Charitable organizations may apply directly to our large and small grants committees for support consideration. Informational brochures, however, can be distributed to tables or at the entrance and referred to by the speaker.
  2. Since our membership comes from all religious persuasions (Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, etc.) we ask speakers to be sensitive to their beliefs.
  3. Since our membership holds diverse political beliefs, we limit political statements to panels and debates which permit presentation of alternative opinions.
  4. Rude, off-color, chauvinistic statements, sexist jokes or racial allusions are inappropriate.
  5. Speakers and their guest's meals will be covered by the club, but we do not cover lodging, other meals or travel costs.
  6. Please allow 5-10 min for questions, and plan to conclude the presentation and Q&A by 1:30 pm.

Our meetings take place at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center, Canyon West Room at 417 West Magnolia Street, Fort Collins, CO. The closest entrance to our meeting room is on the north-west corner of the building. Free parking is available on the nearby street or in lots to the south and west of the building. If you are not met by your Rotary contact, introduce yourself to the Rotarians behind the reception desk at the entrance.

We would very much appreciate receiving a short speaker biography of about 150 words and personal photograph (head shot) to give to our Rotogear (weekly newsletter) and website master, to post before the presentation date. We need the short speech abstract, bio data and picture at least 3 weeks prior to your presentation.

You can send your bio, abstract, photo, and audio/video need information to your contact. It would also be helpful to forward a copy of the written material and photo to our Rotogear editor Ms. Connie Pfeiffenberger at pfeiffenberger4@msn.com (Phone: 226-6590). Any questions concerning audio/video aids may be directed to Mr. Matthew Rankin at rankinmatt@aol.com (Phone: 266-9959; Mobile: 219-2797).

If you would like a MS Word file of this material, you can access it at: http://www.rotary5440.org/fortcollinsco/SpeakerInfo/speakerinfo.doc
