Apr 30 - Service Above Self Awardee, Jack Lundt, in his trademark dress. Claude Piché presented a Power Point show of Jack's accomplishments. I have summarized the National Science Competitions in the table to the right.  Immediately, below is the record of the teams that Jack Lundt has coached.  Check for graph abbreviations in the table at the right.
National Science Competitions
Science Olympiad (SO) - 1985
  • K-12 students.  Teams of ~30 in 20+ science/math events including towers, chemistry, 
    paleontology, anatomy, Disease detective, robot ramble, physics, etc.  Winners based on total 
    points accumulated over all the separate events
  • 3,000 + High School teams at regional's with the top 64 teams going to the national finals 
National Science Bowl (SB) - 1991
  • Junior and High School students.  Teams of 4 members compete in round-robin/double 
    elimination format on math and science related topics
  • 2,500+ High School teams at regional with the top 64 going to national finals
National Ocean Science Bowl (OB) - 1998
  • High School students.  Teams of 4 members compete in round-robin/double elimination format 
    on math and ocean related topics including physics, atmospheric science, biology, etc.
  • 400+ teams at regional with the top 25 going to national finals

Apr 30 - Jeanne Craft, 1st grade teacher at Irish Elementary School, who led the way in creating the  Project Smile program.  She cited the terrible dental health condition of many of the children.  Most of them come from poverty level homes  She also praised Dentist Greg Evans (Check) for his many contributions
