History and Current Events Fellowship
Jul. 09, 2025 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Learning about History and Current Events after regular lunch Rotary meetings opens our eyes and hearts. Current events locally and internationally should stimulate us, and history can inform us about situations before our time of learning.

Together, let us explore and "solve" worldly problems that somehow are not yet completed. We will benefit from members' diverse expertise and informed comments.  We can even safely share our ignorance occasionally and welcome opportunity to explore truths at a later date.

Intl Service Proj - Acuna, Mexico
Aug. 30, 2025 - Sep. 02, 2025

International Volunteer Opportunity Available: Help Deliver School Supplies in Mexico – August 31 & September 1

You are invited to an unforgettable Rotary service experience is happening in Acuña, Mexico.  We will work with multiple clubs including the Ciudad Acuna, Mexico club to pack and deliver backpacks filled with school supplies to students on their first day of school.

This cross-border effort includes:

  • Sunday, August 31 - An evening of packing supply bags and sharing a meal with our gracious fellow Rotarians at the Acuña clubhouse.
  • Monday, September 1 - A morning of distributing backpacks to multiple schools, where students and teachers greet us with songs and smiles.
  • School tours that offer a deeper look at the impact of our work and the needs of the local community

Each backpack costs just $10.50, and the Rotary Club of Acuña aims to provide 500 backpacks ($5,250 total). The Rotary Club of Fort Collins has pledged $2,500, the Boerne, TX  Sunrise Club will provide $1,000, and we're looking for other clubs and sources to  cover the remaining $1,750. The recent July 4th flooding is impacting budgets from clubs in District 5840—but together, we can get this done.

Volunteer for the trip and be part of a meaningful international service experience.

Direct flights to San Antonio make travel easy, and we’ll coordinate shared rental vehicles. Valid passports are required.

Before moving to Fort Collins, CO, I was a member and president of the Rotary Club of Boerne, Texas Sunrise. A member of our Boerne Sunrise Club had a special connection to the Rotary Club of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. Once a year, the Boerne Texas and Mexican clubs—sometimes joined by other Texas clubs—would collaborate on Project Crayola, delivering school supplies to hundreds of economically disadvantaged students in Acuña. It was always a powerful reminder of how service transcends borders.

I hope you will join Lisa and I and make a new Rotary moment.

Please email me if you plan to go or have questions.  I will be giving a count to our friends in Mexico so they can plan appropriately.

Duck Race!
Sep. 06, 2025 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Fort Collins Duck Race Website

The Rotary Club of Fort Collins Foothills & 1918 Club proudly present the 2nd Annual Duck Race for charities, where every splash sends ripples of support throughout our community. Become a Sponsor, Beneficiary or adopt a quack pack and make a difference! 80% of all adoption proceeds will directly benefit the participating charitable organizations, helping them continue their invaluable work. Your support truly counts.

Last year’s inaugural event was nothing to quack about. Close to 1,000 ducks were sold and nearly $20,000 raised by 18 nonprofits. This year we’re going to build on that success.

History and Current Events Fellowship
Oct. 08, 2025 1:00 p.m.

Nov. 22, 2025 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer for our big fall project where we will be providing holiday meals to 70 families in need here in Fort Collins. We will need 30-35 Rotarians to help assemble the meal bags and then deliver them to the recipients.

8:00 AM - 9:30 - Assemble Food Baskets (15-20 people)

9:30 AM - 12:00 Noon - Deliver Food Baskets (15 drivers)

Please click on either the Assembly button or Delivery button (or both) on the calendar entry to register.  (Don't click on the Members button on that event page).

This year we will be assembling the food bags on Saturday morning at 8:00am at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover Street - on the west side of the church. Please be there at 8 am, we cannot get in earlier - do not knock for entry. We will need all the hands we can gather to come and help sort then assemble the food into bags, and then we will need 15 Rotarians to volunteer to personally deliver the bags to our designated families.

Please join us in helping to provide a fruitful holiday meal to a family in need! There will be two sign up lists, one for assembling meals and then another for delivering the finished meals. Please sign up for both if you can assemble and drive.

RESCHEDULING North Shields Ponds Clean-Up
Dec. 06, 2025 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

DUE TO TRAIL CONDITIONS THIS EVENT WILL BE REACHEDULED

Rotary has adopted the North Shields Ponds Natural Area for one year.  This is an easy job picking up trash around the trail and by the dock one time per month and a great excuse to get outside and enjoy our city's beauty.
