Volunteer for our big fall project where we will be providing holiday meals to 70 families in need here in Fort Collins. We will need 30-35 Rotarians to help assemble the meal bags and then deliver them to the recipients. 8:00 AM - 9:30 - Assemble Food Baskets (15-20 people) 9:30 AM - 12:00 Noon - Deliver Food Baskets (15 drivers) Please click on either the Assembly button or Delivery button (or both) on the calendar entry to register. (Don't click on the Members button on that event page).
This year we will be assembling the food bags on Saturday morning at 8:00am at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover Street - on the west side of the church. Please be there at 8 am, we cannot get in earlier - do not knock for entry. We will need all the hands we can gather to come and help sort then assemble the food into bags, and then we will need 15 Rotarians to volunteer to personally deliver the bags to our designated families. Please join us in helping to provide a fruitful holiday meal to a family in need! There will be two sign up lists, one for assembling meals and then another for delivering the finished meals. Please sign up for both if you can assemble and drive. |

Braver Angels is an organization that our club has cooperated with before. They've spoken at our meetings, and we've participated in one of their workshops. Their mission is in line with our ideals as Rotarians. The Braver Angels North Front Range Alliance is inviting us to participate in a event meant to foster connection and communication between the citizens of our area. Martin Carcasson, the Director of the Colorado State University Center for Public Deliberation will examine why we are currently so polarized and divided, and review the tools of deliberative engagement designed to tap into the best of human nature. If you have been struck by the divisions in our nation, and would like to believe, as a citizen, that you can do something to improve your community, participating in this event is a great step to take! You can RSVP for this free event by signing up via this link: https://col.st/pfib9 NOTE ON PARKING: Parking is free on Saturday morning at CSU. Parking is available in the lot northeast of the student center. You can enter the lot at Laurel St. and Meldrum St.
