Member feedback suggested that we discuss what we can do to address our interests with current events and not merely to talk about the situations. Over the months we have discussed wars and changes to economies, administrative programs, legal institutions, and the image of our country. How can individuals and Rotary functions make differences? What are you doing? Can Rotary work toward building goodwill and better friendships or is that just a saying?
- What should we decide to learn more about?
- What media should we use?
- Have you expressed your interests and concerns publicly, at least shared them with friends, or do you keep thoughts to yourselves?
- We are not advocates for political candidates or parties, but should we advocate for the platforms on which they stand as they represent us?
- Did you walk in the No Kings marches? What good does marching do?
- Do you contact your representatives with issues and solutions? Members were not bashful about telling our Mayor and City Administrator what concerned them during last Wednesday's meeting.
Ideas for our involvement!
- I will tell you about my Collaborative Civility Building idea and get your input about the merits and barriers. This is a focused and costly idea bringing interests in civil actions with people and environments into one community building.
- This Saturday April 11 from 1-3 at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery you can attend a Civil Saturday discussion. The intent is to create space to build community with no strings attached. Come as you are, get to know your neighbors, listen to (and sing along) live music performed by Veronica May, hear local poetry, and get the chance to create a shared story: (https://mcusercontent.com/8554676c4c97e957e7184eb39/images/b5428908-a205-ea0a-4c59-cdbc63938df4.png). Our own John Runkles organized one of these discussions earlier at Spring Creek Gardens.
- Listen and read the news this week and bring your ideas about what we can do better.
Bring your friends to discuss with us:
