Jim Epstein introduced Lt. Col. Shane Celeen, CSU Professor of Military Science for the Army “Ram Battalion”, to introduce the Cadet of the Month. Col. Celeen thanked us for our continuing support for the military and the ROTC program. He said that it means a lot to the cadets. He also informed us that he has been reassigned and this is his last meeting with us.

Col. Celeen then introduced cadet Coldon Schaeffer as the Cadet of the Month. He said that Coldon is a freshman and still a member of the Fort Carson National Guard and will be on scholarship starting next year. Coldon is at the top of the physical fitness rankings and carries a 3.0 GPA in Fish & Wildlife Biology Department. He served a year in Afghanistan...

Cadet Schaeffer said that he came to Colorado because of the availability of great outdoor activities like fishing and to CSU because of the Fish and Wildlife Department. He is originally from a ranch near Dickinson, North Dakota, which gave him a good work ethic. He participated in all sports in High School. He recently participated in the Ranger Challenge which he described as a great opportunity to build bonds with the other cadets, mostly upper class cadets. He said that he will continue to work hard to become the best he can be in service to our country.
