December 2013 Cadet of the Month - Joel Wethesen

Richard Skaggs introduced Col. Shane Celeen of the Army ROTC Battalion at CSU to introduce the Cadet of the Month, Joel Wethesen. Col. Celeen said that Cadet Wethesen was picked because of his many accomplishments. Cadet Wethesen is a multi-year scholarship winner, captain of the color guard, member of the drill team and one of two cadets who were honored to bring back the Bronze Boot from the University of Wyoming due to the CSU football team’s win over the Wyoming football team among other accomplishments...

Cadet Wethesen said he is one of ten children who grew up all over the world because his father was in the Air Force. He joked about his Air Force father not too pleased about him being in the Air Force ROTC. He said that his father taught him about service and that ROTC has given him plenty of opportunities for service. He wants to become an Aviation Officer.
