PEN John Trone announced that our Rotarian friends in Guatemala, Rotarios Chiquimula de la Sierra, are distributing medical protection supplies, 200 bags of food and 200 hygiene kits to their local community.With the Covid crisis, Guatemala set a mandatory curfew from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM to 'flatten the curve'. Many with informal work have not been able to cover their basic needs and are without food, hygiene and cleaning products. RCFC sent $1,000 via a member donation, and Rotarios Chiquimula also received funds from Vivid Roots, a non-profit in Boise, Idaho, the Boise area Rotaract, and Rotary Burlington North of Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
