Henry Weisser introduced the Principal of Cache La Poudre Elementary School, CLPE, Roxann Hall, to introduce the Teacher of the Month. Principal Hall first told us a little about the school and some of the struggles they have overcome due to the flood last year and that they draw students from a very wide area. She then introduced Ann Perry, the school counselor...

Ann has been a teacher for 28 years, 23 of those in the Poudre School District and 20 at CLPE. She started her career as a special education teacher, but in 2003 CLPE needed a counselor and she took the job while studding at CSU for her Licensure. She is a Colorado native and she has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

The thanked Ms. Hall for the nomination and our club for the honor. She said, "being a teacher and a school counselor is a part of who I am. Whenever I'm asked to tell about myself, the first thing I always say is 'I am a teacher'. Children bring me so much joy. And the opportunity to teach social skills, anti-bulling strategies, character education along with academics have made my job even more fulfilling. I feel like I have a chance to prepare students for the adventures of adulthood and for the real world."

"I have a great passion for education because children are our countries greatest resource. We should be investing in all our children. No matter where they live, or how much money their family has, all children should have equal access, necessary resources, special opportunities, etc., to reach their full potential. Thank you."
