District Governor Visits; RCFC Celebrates Veterans
Wednesday November 13, RCFC hosts our District 5440 governor, Chris Woodruff,  for his first visit to our club.  Also, Kip Turain, Bill Schaffter and Jan Bertholf will lead a recognition event for military veterans.

RCFC's Cadet of the Month
Wednesday, November 6, retired Col. Kip Turain introduced Col. Tim Childress, USAF, who then introduced Zachary Raak as RCFC's Cadet Of the Month.  Zachary manages the military equipment and uniforms for the AFROTC.  A junior in business and economics, he plans to become a cargo plane pilot.
RCFC Officers/Directors Slate Announced
Wednesday, November 6, immediate Past President and Nominations Committee chair Steve Laine, announced RCFC's 2020/2021 slate of officer and director candidates.  Voting will be held December 4.  Additional nominees, with seconds (in writing) from five (5) RCFC members, must be delivered to PP Steve Laine by November 27.

Rural Urban Day

Last week was RCFC's annual Rural-Urban Day when we celebrate our rural roots in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.  Our program moderator was Don Eversoll, who fondly recalled the benefits of growing up on a farm including stories and “farm jokes”.  Don introduced past Master Agriculturists in the Rotary audience and masterly cast the stage for the remainder of the program.

The Rotary History Fellowship will meet in the foyer immediately after the regular meeting November 13. Our topic will be: 'White nationalism, white nativism and white terrorism. What is new about it now?' Everyone and all opinions are always welcome in this fifteen year old Rotary discussion group.
 
Fellowship Committee announces a social event, Friday, November 15, 5-7 p.m. at the Jewelry Emporium, 3120 S. College.  Includes wine & beer ($5), light snacks, music, and drawings for 10 $50 Jewelry Emporium gift certificates.  A percentage of the event sales will be donated to RCFC.  Thanks Susan Harrison for hosting this event.
 
Club Assembly will be held Dec. 4.  In addition to election of officers, we will have table discussions on strategic planning and honor a Cadet of the Month.

Sign up for CHRISTMAS FELLOWSHIP evenings at Bonnie Titley’s home on either December 3 or 10, 5-7:30 p.m.  Sip wine or cider, munch cheese or other goodies, and enjoy holiday collections of various kinds.  No charge!
 
Sally Lee reported King Soopers rebate of $568.42.  If you haven’t signed up yet, see Sally.
 
Kathy Hawkins apologized for double dues billing.  A glitch in our accountant’s software was probably the cause.
 
Salvation Army Bell Ringing will be December 14th, 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.  Volunteers needed for two-hour blocks.  Contact Bill Schaffter for questions.  
 
Marty Bachman renewed her request for fun fundraising ideas.  She also needs volunteers for her committee.
 
Peach Festival financial report update will be emailed to members.
 
Evening group meets 11/16 at the Big Fat Pastor in Loveland at 5:30.
 
Bill Timpson welcomes members to join the Local Peace Initiative program planning committee.

Kathy Nicol reminded members that we are only allowed to use our lunch venue, plus the Lobby, for Rotary committee meetings either before or after our regular noon meeting.  There are other groups that use the Drake venue and we must respect the Drake staff’s time as they set up the room to the west of us.
 
Chuck Rutenberg needs volunteers to help divide 18,000 diapers into family-size units on November 21.  The diapers are from the Nappie Project recently funded to aid low income family needing diapers in order to qualify for day care.  Get specific info from Chuck about time and location.

Hold January 26 for Purple Pins for Polio.
 
Ralph Smith has 2020 calendars for sale for $15.  $5 comes back to the Legacy Fund.
 
Ross Lane needs help to work the front desk at our meetings.
 
The Board Of Directors approved participation in the 2020 Peach Festival.  President Rob summarized the discussion and outlined the factors to be watched closely.

Del Benson asked anyone interested in being faculty sponsor for Rotoract to contact him.
 
Our club’s holiday party will be Dec. 18 at the Country Club.  Mark the date!
 
SPECIAL NOTE:  Kathy Hawkins cautioned members not to pay dues AND charities with a single checks.  For charities contributions to be tax-deductible, you must write a separate check.
 
The Finance Committee now meets the 2nd Thursday, and the Board Meeting is the 4th Thursday each month.  Both meetings are from 3:30 to 5:00 in the Markley Motors Conference room.  All are invited.

President Rob announced that for those wishing to apply for the new "Noon Membership Without Meals" category, a form needs to be completed and submitted to the Membership Committee.

Del Benson reported the Fellowship Committee encourages home fellowship evenings.  Talk to Del if you are interested.
 
PDG Mike Forney invited retired professionals to join SCORE (Senior Corps Of Retired Executives).  Volunteers work with small business personnel to enhance their business.  Counselors are needed in Ft. Collins.  If interested, contact Mike Forney.
 
Martin Limbird urged members to attend the Rotary International conference in Hawaii next year, June 6-10.  
 
Volunteers for greeter coordinator and front desk duty are needed.
 
Marty Bachman reminds all to report special occasions/events/illness that the Care and Recognition Committee should acknowledge.  Call Marty, Susan Brand, Melanie Chamberlain, or Jeanne Fangman.
