A DEI Journey: Local and International (Lunch Meeting)
Wednesday, February 1, at our lunch meeting at the Lincoln Center, we welcome fellow Rotarian Del Benson to talk about his personal journey in pursuit of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.  Our past president and participant in several international Rotary programs, Del will be introduced by Stacy Plemmons. Del is Emeritus Professor at CSU, where he worked since 1975. His teaching, research and outreach were about private land management for nature conservation, hunting and outdoor user education and behavior, organization development, and human dynamics.  He worked for the provincial wildlife agency in Ontario Canada (1973-1975), and has also studied in Africa where he has consulted and led tours. He has done professional work in Australia, South America and Europe associated with nature conservation on private lands. His approach to education is to encourage stewardship of nature by multiplying his efforts through workshops, courses, presentations, publications, organizational input and outcomes, and creating the Internet site LandHelp.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Fellowship
February 1st, the DEI Fellowship will meet immediately following the noon meeting in the Lincoln Center.  The group will discuss two questions.
  1. What significant personal experiences have driven your attitudes (positive and negative) regarding diversity, equity and inclusion?
  2. What most would you like to experience out of your involvement with Rotary’s DEI Fellowship?  What is the DEI Fellowship’s value add for you personally?  Why does the Fellowship exist – in your opinion?
All are welcome.  All opinions will be heard respectfully.  Our objective is to listen and learn from each other.

Merit Badge University
Thanks Rotarians who spent two Saturday mornings in January helping at the Scout's Merit Badge University. 125 scouts worked on completing requirements for 16 different merit badges.

Merit Badge University is an opportunity for Scouts of all ranks to meet expert counselors in a safe, dynamic group setting. The goal is to give each Scout the tools, and connections that will fuel their own motivation to successfully complete up to 2 merit badges.
