Ranked Choice Voting and Other American Election Issues
On Wednesday, April 27, Rotary meets in person at the Lincoln Center, and will hear from Kathleen Schmidt from the League of Women Voters of Larimer County.  She will be introduced by Stacy Plemmons. Kathleen, active within the League since 2017 and now the chair of the League’s team on Election Reform, will speak on the mechanics and possible benefits of Ranked Choice Voting for Fort Collins.  Representatives from the Colorado non-profit organization Ranked Choice Voting, Jody DesChenes, Linda Templin and Robbie Moreland, will also be on hand to augment the presentation. Instead of being limited to voting for only one candidate, Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) allows a voter to rank candidates in order of their preference. RCV would be a simple upgrade to elections for Fort Collins City Council and Mayor. RCV would make our elections fairer and more democratic because candidates will win with the support of the majority of voters.    READ MORE...
