Hot Spots – Afghanistan and Ukraine – Their Impact on the USA
On Wednesday, May 11, Rotary meets live at the Lincoln Center at noon to hear fellow Rotarian John Roberts. He has been invited to give us his take on the effects in the lives of Americans from events in two remote nations, Afghanistan, and the Ukraine. John notes that… “Despite divergent histories in Central Asia and Eastern Europe, in many ways the nations of Afghanistan and Ukraine have significantly impacted American policy and psychic. Recent events in these two cultures have unsettled the world. RECAP: Empowering Vulnerable Children through Education
For our meeting on May 4, Timothy Massawe of the Rotary Club of Hai-Kilimanjaro in Tanzania joined us by Zoom to tell us about his organization, the Saidia Agriculture and Social Care Organization (SASCO), and its ongoing program to support education in Tanzania through offers of scholarship help to marginalized or vulnerable children with academic potential. The Rotary History Fellowship will meet after the regular noon meeting Wednesday. Our topic will be: 'The E.U., N.A.T.O. and the Russo-Ukrainian War.' Everyone is welcome and all opinions are welcome

Service Above Self Celebration - RSVP NOW!
Guests/partners/spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend this celebratory event. Social hour with cash bar, dinner and more. Event will be on May 18th at Lincoln Center, starting at 5:30pm.
At the April Board meeting, the Board voted to approve the Club budget for 2022-23. Dues for 2022-23 will remain at $74 a quarter. For the Noon Meeting, the Meal and Facility Charges will be determined later, as they depend on meeting frequency and cost of catering. We have had lower than usual spending by the club and the district during the pandemic, resulting in surplus. The Board has decided to invest those savings into Membership and Fellowship for 2022-23, which is why the budget shows deficit spending.
For our noon Lincoln Center meetings, please pre-purchase guest lunches on Eventbrite. Please also use Eventbrite to purchase lunches if you normally attend our evening meeting or in the noon beverage only category.
