Water Scarcity in Africa
On Wednesday, May 24, the luncheon meeting of RCFC at the Lincoln Center features Tom Iseman.  Following our guest’s introduction by Dave Stewart, Tom will address the major crisis through which Africa is suffering as our climate changes and the continent’s population grows. Tom Iseman is the Director of Water Scarcity and Markets for the Global Freshwater Program of The Nature Conservancy. He leads TNC’s work in water-scarce regions around the world, protecting and restoring rivers and wetlands while supporting water security for communities and agriculture. His team is developing and employing new investment models, including water markets, to achieve conservation and social goals. READ MORE...

RECAP: Cornerstone Story – Lightning eMotors of Loveland
For another in our series of Cornerstone Stories, at our May 17 in-person meeting, Dave Stewart introduced and then interviewed Nick Bettis, the Vice President of Marketing & Sales Operations for Loveland-based Lightning eMotors.  Mr. Bettis started off with a short video that introduced the firm and showed some of the medium-duty trucks and busses that they manufacture based on GM and Ford chassis. The chassis starting off with existing with internal combustion engine and its associated power train and are electrified to become fully zero emission. READ MORE...

Science and Engineering Fellowship
On May 24th, the Science and Engineering Fellowship will meet immediately following the noon meeting at the Lincoln Center. We will have a roundtable discussion about science in the news.

Natalie Sundermeier
The Board has approved for membership Natalie Sundermeier. Natalie states "I am a 3rd generation Coloradoan, having grown up in the Four Corners area. I have a BS in Career Counseling from Colorado Mesa University and a Masters in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. My professional career included over fifteen years in Human Resource management and consulting. Most recently, I've managed rental properties in Colorado and for two years, an Airbnb in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have a daughter Taylor and a son Nate, both living and thriving in Denver (and my best work). I enjoy managing events and projects, skiing, walking, and watching just about any two teams play soccer."  READ MORE...

Anthony "Tony" Sundermeier
The Board has approved for membership Anthony "Tony" Sundermeier. Tony graduated from CSU and then spent nearly 20 years at Intel, included leadership positions in Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Human Resources. He also had international assignments with AT&T,  McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing), Intel, Apple, and Raymour & Flaniganretiring as Vice President of Operations and Sales. READ MORE...

David Best
The Board has approved for membership David Best. David is the District Executive for the Big Horn District of the Adventure West Council of Boy Scouts of America. David states "I am from Davis California and I am a graduate from the college of business at CSU. As I have told some people previously, I am a 4th generation Rotary member (If I am accepted). My Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather were all Rotary members in California. I grew up hearing about it being an amazing organization and I am excited to now be starting to see it more for myself."  READ MORE...

Rotary Foundation Recognitions
Rotarians are recognized as Major Donors for their cumulative donations to the Rotary Foundation reach $10,000.  We are excited to welcome Rajiv Mehta and Dan Mackey to our Club's Major Donor group, which includes over twenty past and current members. Rajiv was recognized during our Service Above Self event and Dan was recognized at a recent Evening Meeting. Thank you Dan and Rajiv and all Rotarians who contribute to The Rotary Foundation. Social: CSU Ramskeller Teaching Brewery!
We have 38 members and guests signed up for this event so the tours may be full shortly as they are planning two tours of 20 each. You are welcome to stop by and enjoy a beer regardless!    
 
Fort Collins Rotary’s first corporate members, Colorado State University, will host our Fifth Wednesday Social Meeting for a tour of the CSU Ramskeller Teaching Brewery on May 31 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Operated by the CSU Fermentation Science and Technology Program, the Ramskeller Teaching Brewery is located in the lower level of CSU’s Lory Student Center. There will be two tours of the facility and those not on tour (or those waiting before or after their tours) are welcome to gather for Rotary fellowship at the adjoining Ramskeller to enjoy a frothy libation.
